HISTORY LESSONS - NOT LEARNED

With ISIS on the rise and actively recruiting, another issue comes to light. Many of our retiring Military personnel are not signing on for Reserve Service. The reasons may be unclear to some but not to our current Veterans.

ISIS is Recruiting and our Government is mistreating our Vets. It is terrible that some Vets are being treated poorly. Even the VAC Ombudsman reports on this. We are losing those who could work as highly functioning Reservists but the leadership would rather disillusion the Serving Members so when they retire, they will not volunteer for the Reserves. Those recently retired, with all the current skills required by the military, are also not signing up for Reserve Service.

We are losing twice. We are losing our skilled personnel through retirement and we lose again when they refuse to be available to help as Reserves.

We are losing so much money in trained talent, skill and knowledge, that is just walking out the door, simply because of the short sighted save a buck today mentality. By saving that buck today you are spending ten bucks in training in order to regain this lost knowledge and skills.

Highly trained military personnel are leaving quickly and the military must start with unknowledgeable recruits, to fill the vacancies.

The politicians should be thinking about who will defend them and their families should ISIS get stronger. There is that home grown terrorist problem. How about the Russians and Ukraine? What about our North? I think we are developing some serious deficiencies at home and we should be addressing these now.
