MILITARY HISTORY - What History Shows - The Truth

Let us say you are a military pilot. You are responsible for the safe operation of an aircraft worth in excess of 40 million dollars.

You have just finished a long flight and are given crew rest for the next day.

The next day however you have to do a physical examination and flight plan for that evening.

You go to do your physical exam and you are refused because the tester says your Blood Pressure and Heart Rate are way above acceptable limits in a resting state.

The examiner will not except liability unless you have a doctor approve (provide a Medical Form) your okay to be tested.

Your Physical examination is FAILED and must be stopped because your Heart Rate and Blood Pressure exceed limits during the test.

Documentation is sent to the Base Medical Department and your Commanding Officer.

So What Was The Outcome?

a. The flight must go that night and it is too late to find a replacement

OR

b. The medical staff is very concerned about your health, Flight Safety and the Safety of the Aircraft and the flight is delayed or cancelled.

THE ACTUAL HISTORY

A. (Of Course) As scheduled, you take off and fly all night (6.4 hours) because the flight must go and it is too late to find a replacement.

                        THIS LESSON TEACHES US WHAT?
